Every few months or so I just get fed up about how messy my desktop it so I just selected everything on it and delete it all. Every time I end up deleting a few things I would have liked to have kept but oh well. |

I almost lost my old XP computers when I was younger due to my stupidity as a result of downloading a sitton of viruses. Also, the hard drive sectors were constantly malfunctioning, so I was often greeted by the BSoD whilst working on video and photo editing projects at the time. Heh.... those were not the days. Ever since I got a laptop, upgraded to Win 7, stopped using Sony Vegas (it consumes too many resources, could work on my new system due to the better processor, but I don't want to risk it, I was an okay video editor back in the day, but I would probably need a secondary computer if I want to do it for serious, the space that videos used for editing consume is also high, and though my drive is 925 GB on its own not counting my external HDDs a lot of my space is already consumed by my music storage), and started exercising caution with what I do, where I go, and what I download, my system has been far better behaved. |

I was living with my mum briefly last year cause I'm broke as hell. Her flat is insanely damp. Left laptop lid up one night cause I fell asleep, woke up next morning, laptop destroyed by damp damage. Keyboard no longer works so I can't get past the login, fixing the keyboard is more expensive than a new laptop would be. RIP all my artwork, videogames, music, movies, everything. |

I already had an external keyboard for my ps4, but sadly things are never that easy. Because the drivers had never been installed for it on the laptop, you need to actually be logged into the computer for it to recognise the usb device as a keyboard and do... whatever it does to calibrate itself to use an external keyboard. Tldr external keyboard was no dice. What I'm gonna have to do by the looks of things is save up for an external hard drive and then have a techy friend of mine rescue my files, but given that the laptop is still in my mum's damp as hell flat even that might turn out not to be a possibility anymore. I once had more than hundred of episodes of anime saved in my laptop, movies, music, pictures and school work. After my bro dropped it from bed, they had to fix it and all my data got deleted. And they thought I was watching something shady cause the saw my anime and I got grounded by my parents. It was pretty bad. |
