Liberal candidate in Ontario provincial election in 1981. Never elected to office. Has served on a number of public boards and commissions. However doesn't meet WP:BIO. - Article is already well-sourced; being awarded the Order of Ontario does mean that a person should most likely be considered notable regardless of her success or failure in politics; has held other significant and prominent public roles as an activist and/or civil servant. She may not get past WP:POLITICIAN, but she certainly gets past WP:GNG — and the article as written does successfully demonstrate and properly source that fact. Keep.
