NOTE that the black&white image is NOT the "Iconic image" that most people refer to. Compare to the *photograph* that is at the Source Link. These are NOT the same image. One was done by an artist. The other by a photographer. Tag: Reverted

  • 21:0721:07, 8 February 2023 diff hist −507 Silicon Valley Revert, with new reference added: "A valley represents a low area of LAND located between elevated regions such as hills or mountains." << My emphasis. Still NO ONE has pointed to any definition where a "Bay Valley" is a thing. It's not. Unless you change the plain meaning of the word 'valley'. I am the only one here who has answered the question 'What Is A Valley?' …and provided SUPPORT for this clear understanding that SF Peninsula / SF Bay does NOT count. Please read WP:Consensus. This is a statement which displays ignorance regarding WP:Consensus. It is NOT a democracy. One person in that Talk discussion presented SUPPORT for their position. No one else did. No one has shown any DEFINITION of 'valley' where a 12 MILE WIDE bay btwn 2 mtn ranges count as a valley. Tags: Undo Reverted
  • 08:3208:32, 8 February 2023 diff hist −765 Silicon Valley Etymology: REVERT yet again. Let's all have a look at the valleywater.org reference that had been added. It states: "The valley extends in a south-easterly direction from the San Francisco Bay to an area near Hollister." My view was deleted, and then replaced with words supported by this reference which indicates that my view was the ACCURATE view: Santa Clara Valley does not start until the San Francisco Bay has ended. This means that the SF Peninsula is NOT Santa Clara Valley. Tags: Manual revert Reverted
  • 03:5403:54, 8 February 2023 diff hist −1 Silicon Valley Etymology: DUMMY EDIT: Note that the water.ca.gov pdf reference was deleted as a non-sequitur. I have no idea why it was offered as a reference. The word 'silicon' appears 0 times. The word 'valley' appears 6 times, none of which have anything to do with the issue at hand. I do not know why it was offered as a reference as support to anything stated in that edit. Perhaps the person who offered it might like to explain what the purpose was. Tag: Reverted
  • 03:3403:34, 8 February 2023 diff hist −140 Silicon Valley Etymology: REVERT, per unanswered rebuttal posted in Talk section. Note that the Silicon Valley is NOT a longitudinal valley. Santa Clara Valley may be one, BUT these two regions are NOT one and the same thing. The author of the first known published use of SV clearly indicated he was referring to the SF Peninsula & SC Valley. The SF Peninsula is NOT a valley, longitudinal nor otherwise. And the part of Silicon Valley which includes Santa Clara Valley is a SMALL PART of SC Valley. Tags: Manual revert Reverted
