Warm, wet air may kindle T-storms
If you are sick of the latest stretch of dreary, wet weather, forecasters in the Taunton office of the National Weather Service say patience will be rewarded.
NWS meteorologist William A. Simpson said that beginning tomorrow, the weather should be sunny with temperatures rising into the 70s at least until the middle of next week.
“It should be sunny tomorrow morning,” he said.
Meanwhile, there is a chance of more showers today, Mr. Simpson said. While strong thunderstorms later this afternoon and early this evening are not as likely as first thought when meteorologists made their forecasts earlier this morning, he said there is a chance of some storms, especially in Northern Worcester County.
Mr. Simpson said if the sun comes out later this morning and early this afternoon the atmosphere could heat up enough to cause some thunderstorms.
About seven-tenths of an inch of rain has fallen at Worcester Regional Airport since Monday, Mr. Simpson said.
